Glad to see you're still reading the oldies but goodies, Mike. We think you could have been a little more polite, of course, but we always think these kinds of stories are meant to provoke friend...
This is the dumbest shit I've ever read.. Naples Florida is by far the best City to golf in... Just go to Google Earth and take a look at Naples.. then go to NYC and try to even find a golf cours...
Thanks, Bill, we agree that the parkland courses are worthy as well. And stay tuned for our Northern Ireland video coming up soon....

What a great video of Dublin golf! I think Baltray and Royal Dublin are great links within an hour or so too, and parkland rounds at Druids Glen, Carton House and the '06 Ryder Cup venue K-Club a...

One man's opinion. Well, in this case, two men's opinions.
You lost me at "too many strip clubs" in Myrtle Beach. Sheesh, like there is such a thing. And seriously, St. Andrew's is over-rated?!
Now on our Courses to Play list however!
The other courses near to Birkdale are actually tougher than the Open venue, West Lancs, Hillside and S&A, they just can't fit the stands in sadly!
It's a difference of opinion that makes horse races.
Don't hold back, Tony!
How could you possibly leave off Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Coast, Ca. Reynolds Plantation, The Boulders.....not even close
But well done USGA for going to such a great course as Merion. Tradition is worth as much, if not more, than a level par winning score.
There are quite a few courses in Scotland about which you could say the same thing. The Open, like all big events, has become as much about the services as it is the golf--hotels, parking, conces...
You're right. The Open Championship was held at Prestwick from its first staging, in 1860, until 1872 (no championship in 1871), before going to St. Andrews in 1873. Of course, St. Andrews is sti...
@JAF - enjoyed your reply - your heart is in the right place when looking to smooth over the "troubles" - will look forward to reading the USGA's response when they read the suggestion to move 'U...
Great article with some fantastic courses listed. Just a minor correction, Royal Lytham is not on the water - it is about 800 yards away separated by rows of houses and a main road. I have been f...
i seem to have read somewhere that the open was first held at prestwick, and was held there for several years before going to st. andrews.
You're correct about Aberdeenshire; Cruden Bay's town address is Peterhead. As for the courses in Ireland, we made the very conscious decision to include Irish courses as possible venues for a Br...
Decent responses, some excellent golf courses suggested. Just a couple of things - is there really 'a sleepy town called Aberdeenshire'? Surely that is the county where Cruden Bay is located. Sec...
Aptly enough, "The Greatest Game Ever Played" was on The Golf Channel last night. It's loaded with inaccuracies, but fun to watch anyway.
Some wise and amusing entries here - very enjoyable. My treat is still being able to play the game thanks to carts without which I might get a hole in tops because of my poor, aching back. The bi...
I tend to play my home course evenings when only the deer and I are out there; easy 3 hour round. But I occasionally play a 'nine & dine' with other couples. At one we teed off at 5:30 following ...
Tilden Park in Berleley- 5 plus hours on a regular basis. Lucky the bar is close to the 13th hole. Ready golf ? not a chance.
I'd like to give a shout out to all the 15 and 20 handicaps who come to a new course and announce they want to play from the tips. Last year I was on a press trip to Puerto Rico and we were invit...
The best collection of slow-play stories I've ever heard or read. And I've heard a few stories!
what a nice experince!

Here in Danbury our beautiful Richter Park Golf Course features a blatantly scary hazzard: between the 15th and 16th fairways there's a rather expansive area that looks innocent enough as you app...
Bigger balls, bigger clubs, bigger cups what next legal steroids with your green fees. Back to the basics, moderate sized drivers, not 460cc, no rescue clubs, 3,5 fairways, 2 to sw. Eliminate the...
I would institute the following rule change: strokes taken from on the putting surface should be counted as half shots. Scoring in golf is too much about putting — hence TV coverage’s over-em...
Enjoyed the various takes on changing golf. You not only hit on a lot of subjects, but hopefully you hit some industry nerves here and there, as well. I had to laugh that many of my pet peeves we...
I do appreciate the article but we shouldn't play with the true meaning of what is green! Machrihanish Dunes in Scotland, one of the only golf courses situated on a Site of Specific Scientific In...
Whoever wrote this article should have checked out info on the vineyard golf club. We are the ONLY 100% organic golf course in the USA. Zero peticides are used.
What about the Vineyard Club. Chemical free and in great shape!
