The Watts Tutorial Program (WTP) is an on-campus program at UCLA that
serves the educational needs of undeserved elementary through high
school students residing in Watts and William Mead. WTP focuses on
four key areas for our service recipients: 1) to enhance study skills
and encourage learning through one-on-one tutoring, 2) to provide
tutors who are role-models and reflect good character and citizenship,
3) to provide resources that are not readily available and 4) to
promote higher education by transporting students to UCLA weekly so
that they can become familiar with a university environment. UCLA
tutors are provided with an opportunity to develop leadership skills
by leading activities, becoming a director and acting as both tutor
and mentor to our service recipients. For more information, contact us
