Kim Beckmann is currently an Associate Professor in Design and Visual Communication at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has served as the Area Head for the UWM Graphic Design Program since 2009, and for fall 2011 she is serving as Associate Chair for the Department of Art and Design. In spring 2012 she will be on sabbatical focusing on product innovation research and further development of the UWM Graphic Design design entrepreneurial curriculum. ABOUT THIS BLOG: This fall 2011 UWM Graphic Design 2 students explore product innovation and design entrepreneurialism in a semester long project. The project affords the students the opportunity to analyze and expand their own design process along with a blog to document the design process, provide a forum for collaboration, a networking tool, and an online showcase for their highly refined prototype.
