Discussion about the optical quality of lenses as well as picture quality of cameras. This will hopefully help us all make better decisions when purchasing new lenses/cameras. This group is connected to the website pixelpeeper.com where users can check full-size photos (of other flickr users) from given lenses or cameras at specific settings (apertures, focal lengths). The purpose of the group is to share your opinions about the technical aspect of lenses and cameras. If you want to post a photo to the pool: - photos must be at least 7MP in size - YOU MUST tag your image, specifying used lens (for SLR cameras only; for compacts, you don't need any tags), like this (don't forget the quotations to prevent from splitting into multiple tags): "Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6" for zooms "Tokina 12-24mm f/4" for constant aperture zooms "Canon 50mm f/1.8" for primes Don't add anything other than the brand name (Canon, Nikon, Tokina, Sigma, Tamron etc.), focal lengths and max apertures. e.g. don't add: nikkor, ef-s, is, dx etc. Note: Since many of you also post to brand-specific lens groups, you can now use alternative tags as well -- these are the same tags as the ones used in these groups.
