A guy, his beard and this and that. All images copyright 2014 Who
Knows Where or When. The thing that has fascinated me most in life is
Time, the passage of it and my relationship to it as I age. I was born
in 1957; the first artificial satellite, Sputnik, was put into orbit
by the Commies and set off a panic here….the first Pink Flamingo
lawn ornament rolled off the assembly line, and “How the Grinch
Stole Christmas” was first published, by Dr. Seuss, Burt Bacharach
joined with lyracist Hal David to create some wonderful songs and five
days after I was born, John Lennon was introduced to Paul McCartney
(!) Things that matter most to me are family, friends, my kitty kats,
plants, art, making art….laughing and making friends laugh,
continuing to find peace of mind. I see affirmation posts on Tumblr
esp by young folks and I wish them luck with this one….it’s
probably more of a life-long journey than something we magically
happen upon. I love the plant world, and feel an kinship, as if I
actually were one. They’re the other major form of life we share
this planet with, but very few of our race treat them with the dignity
and respect they deserve. We hear of animal rights, thank God, but not
enough of plant rights. I remind people: we need them, for the air we
breathe and the food we eat, they’re not dependent upon us! So sit
back and enjoy one man’s musings on the world of plants, cats,
stories of my lifetime, and of course my manly man beard and its
history. Thanks for visiting. “Where or When” is a song by the
team of Rogers and Hart. Lorenz Hart was a gifted lyricist, who
happened to be gay, and wrote lyrics to some of the most beautiful
love songs I’ve ever heard. The wonderful melodies were composed by
Richard Rogers, before he teamed up with Hammerstein.
