Everyone has to start somewhere when they begin blogging and they
usually pick a topic of interest as their “thing” as it were. My
beginnings and topic are today and general preparedness. My friends
and associates refer to me by many nicknames to include: MacGyver
and/or Inspector Gadget. The amazing thing is this is usually after
they are in need of something they don’t have and I do. The other
day it was during a business meeting when a pretty young lady received
a simple paper cut and began bleeding all over her notes and
presentation. I simply reaching into my wallet and extracted a
band-aid and presented it to her. My surrounding colleagues looked at
me as if I were a creature from another planet. A few simply smiled as
if they didn’t expect anything less from a former Boy Scout and
paramedic. Then I was amazed to find out that there were others such
as myself. Some are more extreme than me, but amazingly there are
others out there. It is simply called EDC (Everyday Carry). Others are
called “Preppers” or “Survivalist”. For some it is a life
philosophy and others a “quirky” way of life. So my blog will be
about a culture of preparedness, survival, gear, tricks and tips.
