I eat children.

I start with two pieces of bread, usually potato bread but sometimes buttermilk or whole grain white will do. Usually one bread gets spread with mayo, and the other with dijon mustard. Next, I’ll add a few slices of meat; I prefer salami, but ham and turkey will also do. Roast beef is a rare but welcome substitute. On top of the meat, a couple slices of either Swiss or provolone cheese are next. Then I add some sliced red onion, some sliced tomato, sliced pickles (optional), and a handful of greens (red lettuce or spinach leaves). Optionally, I’ll grind some black peppercorns onto the mayo, or drizzle on some Tabasco, but that will make the bread soggy. And that is how you make a sandwich. This blog has nothing on that sandwich I just described.
