ABOUT THE ARTIST: Sam Abel is a Toronto artist whose work is inspired
by her own undeniable corpulence. Sam’s interest in illustration and
body diversity has culminated in an ongoing series of nudes called
Saucy Nüdles. Her work is purposefully and politically focused on
showing a wide range of bodies generally not deemed “suitable” for
erotic consumption. Saucy Nüdles challenges heteronormative standards
of beauty, questions body aesthetics, and pushes the boundaries of
desire. Sam is interested in artistically representing the
