My Fitness Journey is a diary on my daily physical and spiritual
activities. As written in 1 Timothy 4:8 - “For bodily exercise
profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having
promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” My
fitness journey will explore activities that I feel bring me closer to
spiritual fitness. Spiritual fitness is the output of building your
relationship with Christ. Spiritual fitness is acquired by increasing
your knowledge on biblical topics which in time will deepen the
understanding on the application of christian living. For example,
athletes work to reduce their BMI to increase speed and power. In
spiritual fitness, christians learn biblical principles to increase
their output of the fruits of the spirit. The fruits of the spirit
are: discipline, temperance, faith, hope and charity. On my journey to
fitness I follow a daily regimen of reading scripture, daily prayer
and holding myself accountable to uphold the biblical standards for
being a wife and a Christian sister. The other aspect of my fitness
journey will include physical fitness. I will emphasis establishing a
healthy life style through exercising the biblical principles I learn
and apply them to my workouts, eating habits and establishing a
fitness goals. Since I am not a nutritionalist or medical
professional. I will glean from established fitness plans such as
P90x, Primal Blueprint and other fitness experts in the industry to
help find what works best for my individual fitness journey. Overall
my goal is to discipline myself to deny both sin and fatty foods and
accomplish spiritual and physical fitness. Please note, this blog is
not to give spiritual advice or to supplement church attendance. It is
merely a vehicle for information that may edify or encourage believers
who want to increase their daily bible reading and lose weight.
