Every day we are bombarded with facts and figures that tell us what to
think about the economy--yet we often have no way of knowing who is
telling the truth, where they get their information and, more
important, what are their own biases. Over time, we begin
incorporating into our personal language and way of thinking a whole
set of ideas that may in fact be harmful to us and the people around
us. We simply do not believe what we hear or read because all that
babbling doesn’t fit with our own daily experience. So, Working Life
is here to demystify common assumptions and misunderstandings heaped
upon most folks. It's reporting, analysis, an understanding of
working-class Americans and the labor movement, musings on corporate
greed, a perspective of the economy for people who work and, of
course, a little bit of humor.
