Noortje van Eekelen (NL) is a driven and passionate designer,
researcher and coordinator active in various capacities in the
cultural and creative sector. She’s responsible for everything from
preparation to realisation of projects that aim for a social impact.
As a author at Metropolis M she follows contemporary art and design
closely, and is given the opportunity to observe the artistic field
from a vantage point, position herself critically and analytically
towards the field, define relations between various disciplines and
offer a stage to creatives. Noortje van Eekelen likes sharing her
insights and experiences with the future generation of creatives thru
her work in education. As such, she is employed as a lecturer Graphic
Design (MA and BA) at AKV St. Joost Breda. In recent years, she was a
lecturer at Design Academy Eindhoven, Willem de Kooning Academy
Rotterdam, Communication & Multimedia Design (The Hague University of
Applied Sciences and Avans University of Applied Sciences) and
Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam. From May 2013 until May 2015, she worked
for the Financieele Dagblad and NRC Handelsblad in Amsterdam. Noortje
van Eekelen holds a Master’s degree in Design from the Sandberg
Instituut Amsterdam.
