Darrah Gooden was born in the Mississippi Delta to a farmer and an
artist, and raised in the piney woods of East Texas. Her mom taught
art lessons in their home basement during the summer months, and her
first memorable watercolor painting was of a delicate fawn. In 2001
she earned a BFA degree with a painting emphasis from Baylor
University. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas where she lives and
works with her husband and two tiny children. Recent features of her
