The Center for Sex and Culture presents: Bookish Beasts: A Zine &
Comic Fest. SUNDAY, JULY 13, Noon - 6PM. Zines, comics and art by the
Bay Area’s best creators of transgressive and erotic material. 18+
The Center for Sex & Culture 1349 Mission St. SF. The Center for Sex
and Culture Gallery aims to provide space for contemporary art of
significant merit addressing sexuality, erotica and sexual identity,
especially outsider or minority sexual identity; as well as visual
materials from CSC’s Special Collections and the private collections
of guest curators. We install six to twelve exhibitions each year and
hold receptions on the first Friday of every month. Visual arts
programming in conjunction with our shows has included artist’s
talks, video and film screenings, lectures and panels of academics,
sex educators and adult entertainers. The Center for Sex and Culture
Library & Archive was born from, and is sustained by, donated
collections of books, magazines, journals, zines, comics,
dissertations, works of art, videos, memorabilia, and the personal
papers of key members of the community. The collection is being
cataloged by a team of dedicated volunteers and interns. We are open
Monday from 11:30-4. For information on volunteering at the library or
