Poem In Your Pocket: Recently added items - Poetry Society of America
Each April, the PSA collaborates with the New York City Department of
Cultural Affairs to present Poem In Your Pocket Day, a city-wide
program which encourages individuals to carry a poem with them
throughout the day, to attend a poetry reading, or read a poem aloud
themselves. The Envelope Project: A Poetry Exercise The PSA
facilitates The Envelope Project. The Envelope Project was created by
John Waldman, a published poet and elementary school teacher for 23
years in California and Illinois. With a particular interest in social
studies and the language arts, Waldman developed this project to
integrate poetry writing, reading, and spoken word in an interactive
activity. Watch John Waldman in action at the Emily Dickinson school
in Manhattan, as reported by NY1.
